PAROLEE ARREST FOR PROWLING

On January 25, 2011, at approximately 7:00 AM, officers from the Arroyo Grande Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Flora Road on a report of a prowler.  Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the homeowner and the suspect, later identified as David Lawrence Beeman, a 32-year-old Arroyo Grande resident.  Beeman was found nude inside the homeowner’s spa with a large bag full of women’s and children’s under garments and adult pornography.  Beeman was taken into custody without incident and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for prowling.   He was later released on his own recognizance.

Detectives continued the investigation and determined that some of the clothing in Beeman’s possession at the time of arrest belonged to the homeowner.

On January 28, 2011, detectives and patrol officers conducted a parole search at Beeman’s residence and recovered additional evidence.  Simultaneously, officers located and arrested Beeman in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue for possession of stolen property.  Beeman was again transported and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for receiving stolen property.

Beeman posted bail and was released from the San Luis Obispo County Jail, shortly after being booked.  State Parole was unable to place a hold on Beeman as he is on "non-revocable" parole status.  As a result of the continued investigation, the following additional charges are being requested against Beeman:

P.C. 314.1 - Indecent exposure
H&S 11364 - Possession of drug paraphernalia
H&S 11357(b) - Possession of marijuana
